Two men were hit by a car while crossing a downtown Kennewick street in a crosswalk on Tuesday night.

The men, ages 46 and 42, were walking across Washington Street at Railroad Avenue at 7 p.m. when they were struck, Kennewick police said in a news release.

The intersection is near the railroad tracks and the entrance to the Public Market.

The vehicle was heading south on Washington at the time, police said. The driver stopped and stayed at the scene but the person’s name was not released. Kennewick police’s traffic unit is investigating what happened.

The men were treated at a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries, police said.
