Shooting in Tri-Cities leaves 1 man dead. SWAT called in to help search a nearby home

One man is dead after a shooting Saturday night in Kennewick.

Police were called to a residential neighborhood on the 2600 block of Sixth Avenue for a reported shooting about 9:45 p.m.

The man who was shot was taken to a hospital, where he died, according to Kennewick police.

Sunday morning at 6:30 a.m. Kennewick detectives backed up by the Tri-Cities Regional SWAT team served a search warrant in the 2200 block of West Fourth Ave., which is a few blocks from the scene of the shooting.

The victim’s name had not been released Sunday morning as officials worked to notify his family. No suspect had been booked into the Benton County jail.
