Woman killed in a burning Finley mobile home identified as the 61-year-old homeowner
A 61-year-old woman who was killed when her Finley home caught fire Saturday night died in her bed, said investigators.
Deanna Gibson died from smoke inhalation, said Benton County Coroner Bill Leach.
Firefighters carried her out of her burning mobile home Saturday night after finding her inside, according to a Benton County Fire District 1 post. They were unable to resuscitate her and she died at the scene.
Gibson had lived in the home since 2004, according to county records.
She previously lived in Kennewick, Oregon and California, public records show.
Officials said it took a few days to find a family member to notify of her death.
Firefighters were called to 221108 E. Bryson Brown Road, about 10:20 p.m. Saturday. When they arrived, they found smoke and flames coming from the home.
Investigators believe a faulty kitchen fan started the blaze. They do not know the home had working smoke detectors.
