Motorcyclist seriously hurt in south Richland crash. He ran a red light, police say
A motorcyclist was seriously hurt Wednesday after reportedly running a red light through a south Richland intersection and colliding with a car.
The unnamed rider was going fast on Keene Road as he headed east toward the intersection with Westcliffe Boulevard about 4 p.m., Richland police said on Facebook.
A line of cars were stopped at the red light, and the motorcyclist sped around them using the bicycle lane, police said.
When he reached the intersection, he went through the red light and collided with a car turning left.
The rider was thrown from the bike and seriously hurt. He is taken to a local hospital, but his condition was not immediately available.
The other driver was not hurt.
Police say the motorcyclist didn’t have a motorcycle endorsement for his license.
