Update| Suspect in custody, 1 person seriously injured after shooting near downtown Pasco

One person is in critical condition after a shooting near downtown Pasco on Tuesday.

Pasco Police Department is investigating the shooting. A suspect is in custody and a victim with multiple gunshot wounds was taken to a local hospital in serious condition, Sgt. Rigo Pruneda told the Herald.

Pasco Police said in a social media post that they were investigating the shooting near 6th Avenue and Clark Street about 1 p.m. on Tuesday.

Pasco schools and facilities in the area, including the Booth Building, Early Learning Center, Pasco High School, Captain Gray, Emerson and Longfellow Elementary, were locked down for about 20 minutes, according to the district.

Police are investigating near a house in the 600 block of W. Bonneville Ave.

The investigation is ongoing.
