Pasco bar fight and shooting leads to 2 accused of attempted murder
Two men are accused in a December shooting outside a Pasco bar that left one man wounded.
Oscar Gonzalez, 27, and Carlos Tapia Torres, 28, are suspected of attempted first-degree murder in connection with the Dec. 19 attack in the parking lot of Kahlua’s bar.
Gonzalez, the alleged driver, is being held on $500,000 into the Franklin County jail after he was arrested Thursday. No charges have been filed yet.
Torres, the alleged shooter, is facing one count of attempted first-degree murder. A $500,000 warrant was issued for his arrest.
Court documents don’t provide many details about the fight that started between the two suspects and two other men inside of the bar, according to court documents.
One of the men claimed he was “sucker punched” but wasn’t able to say whether Torres or Gonzalez was responsible.
Security video showed Torres and Gonzalez fighting inside the bar.
After the fight, all four were told to leave.
The two victims were walking out of the bar when a red Dodge Ram pickup approached them. Security cameras showed a man wearing a clothes matching Torres’ get out of the truck and start shooting at the men, according to court documents.
One was hit several times and was hospitalized.
Torres returned to the truck and they drove off, according to court documents.
After Gonzalez’s arrest, he told police he was the driver and a passenger got out and fired several shots and get back in.
He wouldn’t confirm that Torres was the gunman.
Torres, a known gang member, has a lengthy criminal history, most of it for theft when he was a juvenile. Then in 2018, he was sentenced to three years in prison for helping to rob a man of his truck, according to court documents.
Gonzalez has a 2017 conviction for residential burglary and a previous misdemeanor assault, both in Franklin County.
