Video released of flaming car in downtown Kennewick. It was arson

Police are asking for help finding the person who set a Hyundai sedan on fire just days before Christmas.

The arsonist started the blaze on Dec. 22 shortly before 7 a.m. after its owner parked near North Dayton Street at West Kennewick Avenue, said Kennewick police Sgt. Chris Littrell.

After about a month of investigating, Kennewick detectives and fire officials have determined that someone intentionally started the fire.

But it’s believed to be an isolated event.

Police released a video of the burning car on Monday, asking anyone who may have additional information to contact police using the non-emergency dispatch number 509-628-0333.
