An 80-year-old Pasco man died a day after he crashed his Toyota pickup into a ditch at a Mattawa roundabout.

Roy L. Lomon was heading north on Highway 243 just before 5:30 a.m. Tuesday when he lost control in the roundabout with Road 24, the Washington State Patrol said in a memo.

The truck went off the road and crashed.

Investigators said he was driving too fast and wasn’t wearing his seat belt.

He was rushed to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland but died Wednesday.
