Update | Dementia patient found after missing overnight from Richland nursing facility
Thanks to an observant citizen, Richland police found a 68-year-old man who disappeared from a nursing facility late Tuesday.
Samuel Myers is believed to have walked away from the facility on the 200 block of Torbett Street, Richland police said. He was last seen at midnight.
A Washington State Patrol issued a statewide Silver Alert for him.
Myers has dementia and other health complications and needed his medication.
About 9:20 a.m. Wednesday, Richland police said Myers had been spotted by a citizen and her husband near a local grocery store.
They called 911 and kept an eye on him until Richland officers arrived.
Police Lt. Damon Jansen thanked the couple and said Myers was in good health and received medical care as a precaution.
