Woman wounded in early morning shooting after Kennewick house party
Kennewick police are investigating a Tuesday morning shooting at a Seventh Avenue party that left one person shot in the arm.
A party at a home on the 2900 block of West Seventh Avenue had already attracted police attention around 3 a.m. Tuesday when people complained about the noise, Kennewick police Lt. Jason Kiel said.
Then about 5:15 a.m., several shots were fired.
“It is believed that there may have been an exchange of gunfire but the scene is still being processed for evidence,” said a morning news release.
The wounded woman believed to be in her 20s was taken to a local hospital, and is expected to survive, police said.
It’s unclear at this point whether the woman was involved in the shooting or what sparked the violence.
Police said they are familiar with the home in the neighborhood just west of Highway 395 because residents had been involved with previous investigations.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact Kennewick police through the non-emergency dispatch number at 509-628-0333 or can leave a tip at kpdtips.com.
