Pasco teen hit by a car on a sidewalk. It happened in front of a middle school

A 14-year-old Pasco student was hit early Friday morning in front of Ochoa Middle School by a speeding driver that came up onto the sidewalk. The driver fled the scene.

A 14-year-old Pasco student was hit early Friday in front of Ochoa Middle School by a speeding driver who came up onto the sidewalk. The driver then fled.

According to Pasco police, the incident happened about 7:17 a.m.

The vehicle was heading east on East Shepperd Street when it hit the walking student.

The driver continued east before turning south onto another street and leaving the school zone.

A witness told police the driver was in a dark-blue vehicle, possibly either a Chrysler PT Cruiser or Chevy HHR.

A witness told police the driver was in a dark-blue vehicle, possibly either a Chrysler PT Cruiser or Chevy HHR.

“The student was taken to the hospital, but did not appear to have any life threatening injuries,” police said.
