Kennewick police are searching for a person who opened fire on another driver in the middle of a busy intersection.

The shooter was behind the wheel of a black sedan and followed a Chevy pickup about eight miles from Road 68 and Interstate 182 in Pasco on Thursday morning, said Kennewick police Lt. Jason Kiel.

It’s unclear why the sedan’s driver was upset, but he followed the driver across the Columbia River and into Kennewick.

They were near the intersection of Highway 395 and Yelm Street about 9 a.m. when he shot at the Chevy pickup.

The truck was hit several times but the driver wasn’t hurt.

Police later found the black sedan near the intersection of Clearwater Avenue and Highway 395 but the driver was done and they are continuing to search for the suspect.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Kennewick police through the non-emergency dispatch number at 509-628-0333.
