Tri-Cities robber steals car from a driver stopped to pump gas

A robber stole a car after a driver stopped to get gas at a Kennewick convenience store Wednesday night.

The robber approached the driver at the gas pumps of the Circle K on the 4200 block of West 27th Avenue just after 10:45 p.m., Kennewick police said in a release.

He implied he had a weapon and threatened the driver. The person turned over the 2014 Hyundai Sonata, and the robber drove off.

The suspect is described as being 5-foot-8 with short hair, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, according to dispatch reports.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Kennewick police through the non-emergency dispatch number at 509-628-0333.
