Hit-and-run driver leaves behind injured 6-year-old and woman after Richland crash

Investigators are looking for a driver who forced another car into a concrete barrier in Richland, leaving behind an injured woman and child.

The Washington State Patrol said a white car hit a Hyundai Elantra as both cars were heading west on the Highway 240 bypass at 6:20 p.m. Sunday near Duportail Street.

The impact forced the Elantra into a concrete barrier, causing the vehicle to flip and hit a Chevy Cobalt, the WSP said.

The white car then drove off, the state patrol said.

The Elantra’s driver, Gloria Delangel, 22, of Kennewick, and the 6-year-old boy in her car were taken to Kadlec Regional Medical Center.

Delangel was treated and released, the boy’s condition was not immediately available.

The driver and a passenger in the Cobalt, Shane T. Allen, 45, and Marissa Allen, 41, both of Richland, were not hurt.

Anyone with information about the crash is asked to contact the WSP at 509-575-2320.
