Prosser rest area fight over a cat ends with a woman wounded and a guy on the run

A fight about a cat left one woman wounded and a man on the run near Prosser.

Alberto Kuban, 20, and the 42-year-old woman were stopped at the Prosser rest area off Interstate 82 when they started arguing about the ownership of the cat, Prosser police said.

The fight continued until Kuban cut the woman’s neck with a knife, and then drove away in a GMC Yukon. The cut was superficial, police said.

Prosser officers searched the area, but weren’t able to find Kuban or the SUV.

Prosser police are asking anyone with information to contact them at 509-786-2112. Kuban is considered armed, and police are asking people not to contact him.
