2 kids, 2 adults hurt after distracted driver rolls SUV in Richland

Four people were taken to the hospital after a distracted driver rolled his SUV at the intersection of Interstate 182 and Highway 240 on Friday afternoon.

Aaron D. Barclay Howell, 27, of Burbank, was taking the ramp to westbound Interstate 182 from Highway 240 in Richland shortly after 3:45 p.m., when he took his eyes off the road, said the Washington State Patrol.

The Honda Element went off the side of the road and rolled.

Barclay Howell and his three passengers, Julia L. Wesle, 31, Osiris Barclay, 23 months, and a 1-year-old girl, all from Burbank, were hurt in the crash and treated at Trios Southridge Hospital.

Barclay Howell was cited for second-degree negligent driving.
