Pasco police still searching for driver in gang-related highway murder

Pasco police are hunting for the person behind the wheel during a drive-by shooting on Interstate 182.

Detectives have been looking for the person who was driving a silver Honda when his passenger Cannon Lopez allegedly opened fire on June 4.

Police arrested Lopez about a week after the shooting that killed Antonio Huizar. The 17-year-old is facing a first-degree murder charge in Franklin County Superior Court.

Lopez was the passenger in the silver Honda as it chased Huizar’s Toyota in Pasco. They followed the car onto the interstate where Lopez allegedly opened fire.

“Make no mistake, we already have the shooting suspect, the passenger, in custody, but we have not yet located the driver or the car,” police said in a Facebook post.

Anyone with information about the car or its driver is asked to call dispatchers at 509-628-0333.
