15-year-old driver charged for crash near Kennewick bridge. Troopers say he was speeding

A 15-year-old boy has been charged with negligent driving for a Saturday night crash near the blue bridge that sent his teen passenger to the hospital.

Yancarlos Beltran Garcia reportedly was speeding when he took the left curving lane from eastbound Highway 240 to northbound Highway 395, at the base of the bridge in Kennewick.

The teen lost control of his 2008 GMC Acadia and crashed into the embankment, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Both Beltran Garcia and his 15-year-old passenger, Carlos Flores, are from Pasco. The two were wearing seat belts in the 9:26 p.m. crash.

Flores was taken to Trios Southridge Hospital in Kennewick.
