Police seek suspect after gang-related drive-by shooting in downtown Kennewick

Police are looking for the person who opened fire on a man in downtown Kennewick late Saturday morning.

Witnesses called 911 at 11:30 a.m. after seeing someone in a car shoot at a 32-year-old man on the sidewalk near Kennewick Avenue and Dayton Street, Kennewick police said.

The man wasn’t hit and reportedly refused to cooperate with officers.

A spent shell casing was found at the scene.

Police believe the shooting was gang-related, but added there’s no known threat to the general public.

Detectives are continuing to investigate. Anyone with information is asked to call Kennewick police using the non-emergency dispatch number at 509-628-0333.
