Pasco woman jailed for animal cruelty for killing roommate’s kitten, police say

A Pasco woman is in jail after stomping her roommate’s kitten to death and then fighting with police on Wednesday.

Police were called to a home near Sylvester Street and 14th Avenue after Cherrelle Lashaye Dixon attacked the animal, according to Pasco police and Franklin County jail records.

When officers found Dixon nearby and tried arresting her, she began fighting with officers, police said. They needed to use a full-body restraint to take her into custody.

She was booked into the Franklin County jail for animal cruelty and resisting arrest.

Mental health professionals are also working with Dixon, police said.
