More police patrols planned in Kennewick. Here’s why
Even as nonessential businesses and schools close to limit the spread of the new coronavirus, criminals are not staying home, the Kennewick Police Department said.
It has added extra patrols and the public may notice more police cars cruising around town starting Monday.
“Don’t be alarmed, we are adding extra patrols to ensure our community is safe,” the police department said in a Facebook post.
Officers will be checking neighborhoods, retail areas, closed businesses, schools, churches and parks, they said.
Richland and Pasco police have not announced any similar plans to step up patrols.
