Gun fires inside Richland Walmart after man drops his jacket

Walmart shoppers and employees ducked for cover Wednesday after a gun went off inside the Richland Walmart in the Queensgate area.

The man was legally carrying the pistol inside his jacket when he dropped the coat and it fired off a round about 3 p.m. Wednesday, said Richland police.

No one was hurt and it’s unclear which direction the shot went inside the Duportail Street.

The man remained at the store and was cooperating with investigators.
