Teen was high when he broke Kennewick apartment window, say police

A 16-year-old was high when he forced his way through the front window of a Kennewick home, police said.

At 1:30 a.m. Friday, Kennewick police were called to the 1900 block of West Fifth Avenue and found a man covered with blood outside the home.

He had been cut trying to stop a 16-year-old from going into the apartment after breaking the window, Kennewick police said in a news release.

He wasn’t successful and police found the teen inside. He refused to listen to officers and punched one when they tried to detain him.

The teen suffered several cuts and was taken to Trios where he received several stitches before being booked into the Benton Franklin Juvenile Justice Center on investigation of residential burglary and assault.
