Drowsy driver hospitalized after interstate rollover in Pasco

A sleepy Kennewick driver ended up in the hospital after wreck his car on Interstate 182 on Thursday morning.

Matthew P. Sept, 27, was heading west on the interstate shortly before 6:30 a.m. when he nodded off just west of Road 100 in Pasco, the Washington State Patrol said.

His Chevy Sonic hatchback went into the median, rolled and ended up on its roof.

Sept was wearing his seat belt and needed to be freed from the car. He was taken to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland, where he was listed in satisfactory condition.

The WSP cited him for negligent driving.
