Richland police still looking for stabbing suspect

Richland police were continuing Thursday to search for the suspect in a Wednesday night stabbing.

A man called 911 at 11:20 p.m. from outside a convenience store near the intersection of Jadwin Avenue and Van Giesen Street.

When police and medics arrived they found the wounded man had been stabbed, said Richland Sgt. Drew Florence.

The victim was taken to the hospital where he is expected to recover, Florence said.

Investigators have few details about what happened because the man was not cooperating with police.

A police dog was called in to help search the area, but no arrest was made.

Anyone who saw something suspicious or knows about the incident is asked to call the police non-emergency number at 509-628-0333.
