12-year-old took a stolen gun to his Prosser math class. He wanted it for ‘protection’
A 12-year-old Prosser boy was arrested after he took a stolen gun to school on Tuesday.
Prosser police said a 13-year-old girl told authorities after school that she saw a student with a gun in his waistband during math class at Housel Middle School.
Other witnesses confirmed her story and police contacted the boy and took him into custody, said a police news release. They also seized the gun.
The boy reportedly admitted taking it to school.
Police said there was no information suggesting the boy planned to use the gun at school. “The juvenile said he brought the gun to
school for protection,” said police.
The boy was taken to the Juvenile Justice Center in Kennewick on investigation of having a stolen gun and having a deadly weapon on school grounds.
