Update: Teen arrested in connection with shooting death of 21-year-old in Kennewick
A 21-year-old is dead and a teen was arrested following a shooting in Kennewick on Saturday evening, said Kennewick police.
Patrick Steven Romero was killed just before 6 p.m. in the area of West Bruneau Place and North Dennis Street, said Kennewick police in a news release.
Witnesses reported hearing several gunshots and seeing people flee the area heading toward the Econo Lodge on Highway 395.
The investigation led Kennewick detectives to the 600 block of North 19th Avenue in Pasco, where Raheem Mayberry, 19, was taken into custody with the help of Pasco police.
Kennewick Sgt. Joe Santoy said two vehicles connection to Raheem were seized, and detectives were searching his home early Sunday for any connection to the shooting.
After being interviewed by Kennewick detectives, Raheem was booked into the Benton County jail on investigation of first-degree rendering criminal assistance.
