He cut off a Pasco police sergeant’s car. Then he made it worse

A Pasco teen’s problems turned from bad to worse after he pulled out in front of a Pasco police sergeant this week, forcing the officer to slam on his brakes to avoid a crash.

Robert Santana-Morales, 18, of Benton County, was behind the wheel of a dark sedan on Sylvester Street when turned left in front of Sgt. Brad Gregory about 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Gregory avoided hitting the car, then tried to pull it over.

But Santana-Morales sped away and drove through multiple stop signs before stopping and running off, said police.

As he ran, he dropped his coat, along with his passport and a drug pipe.

But officers did not need to search too hard for him.

When Santana-Morales circled back for his car, the sergeant was waiting.

Santana-Morales was booked into the Franklin County jail on investigation of attempting to elude police.
