This Finley man threatened his baby and hit his girlfriend on Christmas Day, police say

A Finley man is in jail after hitting his girlfriend and threatening their 3-month-old baby.

Violence erupted at 8 p.m. at the East 14th Place home following a Christmas Day argument between Nicholas Saenz, 28, and his girlfriend.

After hitting her several times in the face, he grabbed and threatened the infant, the Benton County Sheriff’s Office said on Facebook.

The woman ran to a neighbor’s house and called police.

Deputies were joined by Tri-City Regional SWAT Team members from Kennewick, Richland, Pasco and Franklin County.

When they searched the home, they found the child safe inside, but Saenz had taken off.

Deputies found and arrested him early Thursday. He was booked into the Benton County jail on investigation of assault, interfering with reporting domestic violence and an outstanding warrant.
