3 hurt in 2 Pasco shootings, 1 man still in critical condition
One man remained in critical condition Wednesday after three people were hurt in a pair of apparently unrelated shootings in Pasco Tuesday evening.
A 28-year-old was shot on the 800 block of West Ruby Street shortly before 6:30 p.m., said Pasco police. As officers were searching the neighborhood to find where the shots came from, some people drove the victim to Lourdes Medical Center in Pasco, said police.
The man, whose name was not released, was in critical condition when he arrived and was flown to another hospital, said officers.
Police found where the shots were fired and impounded a car connected to the shooting. Detectives were continuing to hunt for the suspect.
Investigators believe the victim was targeted but the shooting was not gang-related.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call dispatch at 509-628-0333 or email Detective Jesse Romero at romeroj@pasco-wa.gov about case 19-38651.
Pasco chase
A Toyota linked to a potential suspect in the Ruby Street shooting was spotted going west on Court Street at 10:45 p.m. A detective believed the suspect was in the car.
When an officer tried to stop the car, the driver, Kendra Ponce, 26, of Pasco, took off, said police.
She led officers on a chase through all three cities with a preschooler in the car and another adult, before she crashed through a chain-link fence around a horse pasture at the corner of Riverhaven Lane and Road 44.
Ponce was booked into Franklin County jail on suspicion of attempting to elude and second-degree malicious mischief.
Her passenger, Santiago Ayala Piñeda, 33, was arrested on an outstanding warrant. The 4-year-old in the car was handed over to responsible adults, police said.
Police did not say whether anyone in the car was tied to the Ruby Street shooting.
Lakeview Trailer Court shooting
Two people were wounded by gunfire after several people apparently opened fire in the Lakeview Trailer Court on Road 40 East near Sacajawea State Park.
As of Wednesday evening, police did not believe there was any connection to the Ruby Street shooting.
“Many details still need to be confirmed,” police said in a Facebook post. “This shooting may have involved multiple shooters and weapons.”
Two men were wounded and escaped in a white Silverado pickup from the trailer park. They ended up on South Seventh Lane, where a relative saw they were hurt and drove them to Lourdes Medical Center.
The wounds were not life threatening.
Police are asking anyone with information to contact dispatch at 509-628-0333 or email Detective Julie Lee at leej@pasco-wa.gov.
