Richland police are investigating the death of a 66-year-old woman found dead at a Queensgate mobile home park.

Sheila Smith was found dead Thursday in her home on Horizon View Lane at the Hills Mobile Home Park in Richland.

Officials were first called to the home at 10:30 a.m. It’s unclear who called.

Inside they found Smith’s body, said Benton County Coroner Bill Leach.

An autopsy is scheduled for Saturday to confirm her death was from natural causes.

Late Thursday, Washington State Patrol mobile crime lab team members were still at the home collecting evidence and a Richland police officer was posted there.

The mobile home park is west of the intersection of Queensgate Drive and Duportail Street above the Yakima River.

Earlier this year, another woman was found dead alone in her mobile home in the same area. Last month, officials concluded after getting lab test results that the 56-year-old suffered a heart attack.
