Kennewick police hunting for suspect after robbery attempt outside brewery

Kennewick police are hunting for a man after a failed robbery attempt outside Ice Harbor Brewing on Tuesday afternoon.

The victim stepped outside the bar after dropping off his wife shortly before 4:15 p.m. He was smoking when a man walked up behind him and tried robbing him at knifepoint.

The victim managed to get into his car, but not before the robber slashed his thumb, said police.

The robber then ran north. The wounded man went back into the brewery before police arrived. He was driven to Trios Southridge Hospital by a friend.

Officers watched several roads in the area of Columbia Drive after the initial incident at the Benton Street business, and used one of Pasco’s police dogs to search for the suspect.

The man is described as 6-foot, in his mid-30s and wearing dark clothing.
