Pasco robbery spree ends in SWAT bust

Two people are in jail after two robbery attempts in Pasco ended in a standoff at an Agate Street apartment.

Police say two men showed up at 5 a.m. in a garage on North Sixth Avenue. A resident saw them and told them to leave and they responded by pointing a gun at him and pulling the trigger, but it didn’t fire, said officials.

The men left and then tried to rob someone else, Pasco Sgt. Scott Warren said. Officers used a police dog to track them to an apartment on the 700 block of Agate Street.

As officers surrounded the complex, one man came outside and another remained inside. The Tri-City Regional SWAT team was called and, after about an hour, the second man came out and was arrested.
