A thief left a sugary trail after an early morning Kennewick break-in.

Michael Snyder, 26, is accused of using a rock to smash the glass door to the Dollar Tree on the 3000 block of West Kennewick Avenue at 12:22 a.m. Tuesday, Kennewick police said.

When officers pulled up they spotted Snyder, wearing a mask, walking away. When they tried stopping him, he began dumping candy bars from his pockets.

Officers caught up with Snyder, and he was booked into the Benton County jail on suspicion of second-degree burglary.
