Three people are under arrest after a daytime attack Jan. 17 at a Kennewick library.

Adrian Torres-Garza, 19, and two youths, all from Kennewick, approached someone at the Mid-Columbia Libraries branch on Union Street.

Police did not release the details of what prompted them to single the person out, but Sgt. Ryan Kelly said Torres-Garza and the youths were motivated by their gang affiliation.

The three youths punched and kicked the victim. No other weapons were involved, Kelly said.

As officers investigated, they learned the trio were connected to a home on the 4000 block of Vancouver Street.

Officers searched the residence Thursday morning looking for clothing, cellphones and gang paraphernalia.

Kelly said officers plan to book Torres-Garza and the two youths for felony gang intimidation and misdemeanor assault.
