‘Banana man’ in Richland avoids getting mashed by car
A costumed man nearly went bananas on a car Sunday morning in Richland.
The man — wearing a banana costume — jumped in front of a car at 4:20 a.m. on the 1400 block of Judson Avenue.
The alert driver was able to stop in time before squashing the man, Richland police said.
The man split the scene before officers arrived.
“While we acknowledge the fruit should avoid the roadway, we are glad that neither the fruit nor the driver had a spoiled day,” Richland police said.
