The Kennewick teen was speeding. Then cops said he was drunk
A Kennewick teen got a sobering speed lesson while drunk this morning.
A patrol officer spotted the 17-year-old driver going 54 mph in the 35 mph zone at 2:30 a.m. Friday along 10th Avenue near South Osborne Street, Kennewick Officer Cory McGee said.
After stopping the Ford Escape, the officer found the drunk teen behind the wheel.
The teen was booked into the Benton Franklin Juvenile Justice Center for DUI and underage drinking. He also got a speeding ticket.
McGee said the teen’s car was impounded.
