He robbed banks with only a note. Police say 2 were in Tri-Cities

A bank robber police say struck twice in the Tri-Cities is behind bars after he was caught following a third robbery.

Yakima County sheriff’s deputies and the Washington State Patrol nabbed Moises Marquez, 28, of Prosser, following a Dec. 4 bank robbery in Granger, police said.

Marquez was wanted for robbing the same U.S. Bank branch at least once in August, according to the Yakima Herald-Republic.

Investigators say that on Nov. 18, Marquez robbed the Gesa Credit Union on Huntington Street in Kennewick. Two days later, he robbed Yakima Federal Savings on Court Street in Pasco.

Each time, Marquez handed the teller a note demanding cash.

Kennewick police said investigators in Sunnyside and Yakima County told them about the possible connection to a pair of robberies that occured in the Tri-Cities in mid-November.

Detectives say they have evidence linking Marquez to the Gesa robbery.
