He started off speeding; he ended up in Franklin County jail
Racing down Sixth Avenue was the first in a line of bad decisions that landed Victor M. Garcia in Franklin County jail.
Pasco police reported on social media that the 23-year-old Kennewick man was behind the wheel of a Chevy Cruze at 4:36 a.m. Wednesday when he spun his tires heading south from C Street. Witnesses said the vehicle got up to about 70 mph before he lost control near the bend in the road.
The car launched over a curb and into the retaining wall that forms the beginning of the overpass on Ainsworth Street, the post said. The driver’s head hit the windshield hard enough to spiderweb the glass.
A witness spotted one of the three men running from the car head to a nearby home, and pointed it out to officers. They found Garcia and Zeima Cadenas-Quintero, 19, of Kennewick, hiding behind trash cans in the yard.
Garcia was booked into the Franklin County jail for hit-and-run and reckless driving. Cadenas-Quintero was arrested for an outstanding warrant.
