He was wanted for 2 homicides. Pasco police helped track him down
Pasco police helped track a double-homicide suspect Tuesday who was wanted in Lewiston.
Lewiston police began looking for the man shortly after 5 a.m. when they responded to his trailer and found two people dead. A third adult was treated for a stab wound to the back.
Police did not identify the victims.
Richard Carlin, 73, was identified as a suspect in the attack, and police began hunting for him and alerting law enforcement agencies around the region.
Pasco police helped with the search when Carlin was seen about 8 a.m. at the Jack-in-the-Box on Court Street.
Stanfield Police Chief Bryon Zumwalt said he and Officer Joyce Wright arrested Carlin at about 10:30 a.m. in front of a McDonald’s at the Pilot Truck Stop.
Carlin had a woman with him in his vehicle, Zumwalt said, but she had no involvement or knowledge of the killings. She was released.
Zumwalt said Carlin was being held at the Umatilly County jail, and police are working to get an arrest warrant and search warrants for mobile home.
