The Connell woman had nearly arrived when the truck hit her SUV
A Connell woman was feet away from her destination when she was rear-ended Monday evening.
Norma M. Ruelas, 44, was waiting in her GMC Yukon to turn into a driveway on Highway 260, about two miles west of Connell.
The Washington State Patrol said Pablo Prado, driving a Ford F-150 pickup, then slammed into Ruelas’s SUV.
Ruelas was brought to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland, and Prado was taken to Lourdes Medical Center in Pasco.
A 4-year-old girl riding aidh Ruelas was not hurt. Everyone was wearing seat belts.
The state patrol said the crash was caused by Prado’s inattention and cited him with second-degree negligent driving.
