UPDATE: Deputies arrest suspect in Benton City robbery
The man accused of robbing a Benton City convenience store is behind bars.
Seth R. Waliser, 24, allegedly went into the Just a Minit Mart at 5:28 p.m. Thursday. He pointed a silver-colored pistol at the clerk and demanded money.
The image provided by the Benton County Sheriff’s Office showed a man wearing an orange and gray jacket pointing a gun at the clerk. The man’s face was covered.
The clerk handed about $200 to $300 mostly in $20 bills to Waliser, who ran north from the store, the Benton County Sheriff’s Office said.
“The clerk also told detectives the suspect looked familiar to him and believed him to be named Seth,” sheriff’s officials said.
Sheriff’s deputies and detectives found Waliser at a relative’s home along North River Road about four hours after the robbery. He was arrested for outstanding warrants.
A relative linked Waliser to the jacket. Detectives later found the jacket and pistol in a trailer park at 710 Della Street, where Waliser lived.
Deputies booked Waliser into the Benton County jail on suspicion of first-degree robbery.
