Pasco man accused of strangling girlfriend

Pasco police are searching for a man who allegedly strangled his girlfriend and threatened her with a knife.

The suspect, Jorge Marez Garcia, 41, allegedly attacked her at a home on the 6300 block of Riverhawk Lane on Tuesday. She was able to get out of the house and contact police at 1:30 p.m.

She was treated at a Kadlec Regional Medical Center emergency room in Kennewick.

Police say he has a history of domestic violence.

“Jorge has a history of being mean and hurting the ones he cares for,” Pasco police said.

He is wanted on suspicion of second-degree assault.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call police at 509-545-3421.
