Update: Pasco man died returning home from gym

A Pasco man was on his way home from working out Wednesday when he lost control of his pickup and plowed through a Pasco home.

Mark G. Bryan, 47, had spent the last hour exercising before he crashed through a brick wall on Convention Drive about 7 p.m., said Pasco officials. He died at Kadlec Regional Medical Center.

Benton County Coroner John Hansens said an autopsy is planned but Bryan likely suffered a medical problem that caused him to veer off the roadway.

He was alone in a Dodge Ram pickup heading north on Convention Drive when the truck went out of control.

The truck gained speed and it barreled across Sandifur Parkway, narrowly missing two vehicles before it slammed through the wall, Pasco police said. It crossed a backyard and went through the master bedroom of a two-story home.

Callers to 911 initially reported several vehicles had collided and there was a possible house fire because of the dust and commotion.

The truck continued through the home and ended up sticking partially out another wall.

A 16-year-old student was the only person home at the time. He was upstairs and not hurt.

City code enforcement officials said the home needs to be repaired before the residents can return to living there.
