This Oregon woman wanted to kill her daughter with her own drugs, deputies say

An Oregon woman is in jail after Umatilla County investigators say she tried to poison her daughter.

Roxy Brook Pridgen, 36, of Athena, Ore., allegedly told sheriff’s deputies that she placed prescription drugs into a drink and gave it to her juvenile daughter in an attempt to kill her.

Pridgen’s daughter became sick, according to investigators.

Deputies said Pridgen did it because they were arguing and fighting.

A news release stated Pridgen is mentally ill and takes prescribed drugs. Officials didn’t elaborate on whether those were the drugs Pridgen allegedly used to poison her daughter.

A deputy arrested Pridgen on Sunday. The Umatilla County District Attorney’s Office declined to comment.
