He started on 4 wheels in Pasco. He landed on 3 — in jail
A Kennewick man learned a hard lesson about why cars needed four wheels.
Late Friday night, some gunshots were heard near Chiawana Park, Pasco police said. The shots were linked to a white car.
Pasco police Officer Ana Ramos spotted a white Infiniti sedan in the area tried to stop it. The driver, Jose C. Ramirez, 19, sped off instead with three passengers inside.
Ramirez led officers on a chase reaching speeds of 95 mph that went from the intersection of Court Street and Road 72, through neighborhoods near Road 44, then south on Argent Road.
When he got onto Argent Road, Ramirez hit a curb and knocked the right rear tire off the car. An officer used their patrol car to bump Ramirez’s car.
The maneuver sent the Infiniti into the curb again, where it pitched onto two wheels and came down on three.
“It’s never good when police are looking at the bottom of your car,” Pasco police said. “It’s worse when it is still in motion and people are in it.”
Police booked Ramirez into the Franklin County jail on an investigative hold for attempting to elude police and DUI. His passengers were released.
