Passenger injured in rollover on Highway 12 near Burbank

A Toyota Camry rolled Friday evening on Highway 12 near the Snake River bridge after the driver swerved trying to avoid a merging semi-trailer truck.

Paul V. Laughlin, a passenger in the car, was taken to Lourdes Medical Center in Pasco.

A 2017 Kenworth semi and the 2004 Toyota Camry both were traveling east on Highway 12 when the truck tried to merge in front of the sedan, the Washington State Patrol said.

That’s when the Toyota’s driver, Nancy A. Patino, 25, of Seattle, swerved and then overcorrected.

Both Patino and Laughlin, 34, of Seattle were wearing their seat belts when the Toyota rolled, the state patrol reported.

The 5:55 p.m. crash happened one mile east of Pasco city limits, between the bridge and the main Burbank exit.

Patino and truck driver Carlos Ramos-Gonzalez, 49, of Pasco were not injured, the report said.
