Richland police are looking for an apologetic shoplifter who decided to leave his loot behind.

The man walked into the Richland Fred Meyer store around 2 p.m. Nov. 9 and loaded a shopping cart with $600 of items.

A store employee followed the man outside. When the suspect noticed, he yelled “sorry,” and left the items behind

The employee saw him hop into a fleeing Ford pickup.

Police are asking anyone who recognizes the man to call dispatch at 509-628-0333.
