A Pasco councilman’s trial on molestation charges has been postponed two weeks because of a conflict with his lawyer’s schedule.

Chi Flores, 39, asked Tuesday to delay his Franklin County Superior Court case until Nov. 29.

His attorney, Scott Johnson, told the judge he has another trial set to start Monday in Benton County that would not wrap up before Nov. 15 — the date Flores had been set to face a jury.

Deputy Prosecutor Maureen Astley objected to the request, which was granted by the judge.

Flores is charged with two counts of first-degree child molestation. He is accused of inappropriately touching a young girl on two separate occasions in 2016 when she was at his Pasco home.

Johnson previously said there is no truth to the allegations against his client.

The trial is expected to last about four days.
