Two houses were damaged by an early morning fire in downtown Kennewick on Tuesday.

Kennewick fire officials said the 3 a.m. blaze started near a fence between two homes at 823 and 825 S. Fruitland St.

Windy conditions pushed the flames from 825 S. Fruitland to the house next door. Everyone got out OK.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
